Changing jobs can be a stressful experience at the best of times, but when you are leaving not just you job but your whole life and culture behind you have to be prepared to adapt to fit into your new life.

Remember that Bermuda is a different country with its own cultures, laws and traditions.

Sometimes it can take while to adjust as its not just the obvious things which can take some getting used to.

Whilst youre acclimatising to the hot weather youll notice that very few of your fellow accountants or lawyers have their own cars.

You cannot rent a car on Bermuda and buying one can be very expensive. But as its a small island (or series of them) many people make do with a moped or scooter just remember to drive on the left!

Also the cost of living is high so dont be surprised when you arrive.

Hopefully your new employer will have made you aware of this and you will find that you are receiving a higher salary than comparable destinations such as the Cayman Islands, so take this into account.
